Draft work - Cody Johnson, Hank Conger, Justin Upton and more

I just did another 2-part article for Baseball Analysts based on draft video of players including Cody Johnson and Hank Conger (2006), Stephen Drew and Justin Upton (2005) and Ryan Harvey (2004)

The main idea is to use the video to identify swing efficiency.  If a young player has a more efficient swing, will it be easier for him to make it to MLB?  Interesting question.

Also, I have to make clear that my intention is not to be critical of draft selections.  If I suggest that a young player has areas to improve his swing, that's all it is.  An 18 year old draft pick does not need to be perfect.  But in my opinion, it would be helpful to know which areas to concentrate on improving in order to help speed up the development process.  That's the idea.

Part 1:  Johnson, Conger, Drew, Harvey and David Wright

Part 2: Justin Upton, Rickie Weeks and Alfonso Soriano
